DESCRIPTION:All BMAI Karate students and their families are invited to join us for all\, or part\, of a campout and outdoor martial arts training. \n\n\n\nWillamette Mission State ParkBeaver Island Group CampNorth of Salem (1-1/2 hours from BMAI) \n\n\n\nRegistration Form \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHere are some things to know about the campout: \n\n\n\n\nThere is NO FEE for the campout. You will have to pay park fees for vehicles.\n\n\n\nThere will be NO KARATE CLASSES AT THE DOJO during this time.\n\n\n\nChildren are encouraged to attend. They must have a parent or designated adult supervisor with them for the duration of their stay.\n\n\n\nWorkouts will be held in the field at our campsite\, in the river\, or in the woods nearby. \n\n\n\nClasses will be in gi and shoes you can train in.\n\n\n\nBring warm clothes for the cool mornings and nights.\n\n\n\nBring a camp chair\, if you have one.\n\n\n\nEveryone will be responsible for their own food and drinks. We will NOT be supplying food\, utensils or cookware.\n\n\n\nWe will have a large gas cook stove for anyone who needs to use it. Please bring your own\, if you have one. \n\n\n\nThere are about a dozen picnic tables with benches at the sight.\n\n\n\nIt is expected that many S’mores and hotdogs will be cooked over the fire.\n\n\n\nThere is only one spigot for water.\n\n\n\nWe plan to set up a large outdoor sink at the water spigot with dish washing supplies. \n\n\n\nThere are no showers and no indoor toilets. There is a (clean) Port-a-potty on sight.\n\n\n\nWe will supply wood for the campfire. \n\n\n\nThere are trees around the campsite for shade. \n\n\n\nThe Willamette River is about a 10-minute walk from the site. DESCRIPTION:Download the Tournament information sheet and Entry Form \n\n\n\nBMAI is hosting our annual in-school kata tournament to give our karate students an opportunity to learn about the performance aspect of karate. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their achievements and for family members to come show their support.  Students of any age or rank may participate as long as they know a kata well enough to show it. \n\n\n\nPerforming a kata in front of other people is a huge confidence-builder\, but can be terrifying\, too! The purpose of this event is for the students to build their confidence in a familiar atmosphere with the support of people they know and trust. The judges for the event will be BMAI instructors who will do their utmost to make this a positive learning experience for everyone. \n\n\n\nThere is a $20 entry fee for one event. Additional events are $10 each. Competitors may enter up to 5 events! Medals and certificates will be given out for the winners in each division.  \n\n\n\n The divisions are: \n\n\n\nEmpty Hand Kata \n\n\n\nWeapons Kata \n\n\n\nTeam Empty Hand Kata \n\n\n\nTeam Weapons Kata \n\n\n\nTeam Creative Kata \n\n\n\nCompetitors should be warmed up and ready to go at 5:30. The competition will begin after some brief explanations of the procedure. The number of entries will determine the length of the event. Plan for the event to last until roughly 8:00. \n\n\n\nPlease ask an instructor if you have any questions about this exciting event! \n\n\n\nThe Deadline for Applications is Thursday\, Dec. 4. \n\n\n\nNo Late Entries or Changes will be Accepted.
