SUMMARY:Saizen Karate Campout
DESCRIPTION:All BMAI Karate students and their families are invited to join us for all\, or part\, of a campout and outdoor martial arts training. \n\n\n\nWillamette Mission State ParkBeaver Island Group CampNorth of Salem (1-1/2 hours from BMAI) \n\n\n\nRegistration Form \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nHere are some things to know about the campout: \n\n\n\n\nThere is NO FEE for the campout. You will have to pay park fees for vehicles.\n\n\n\nThere will be NO KARATE CLASSES AT THE DOJO during this time.\n\n\n\nChildren are encouraged to attend. They must have a parent or designated adult supervisor with them for the duration of their stay.\n\n\n\nWorkouts will be held in the field at our campsite\, in the river\, or in the woods nearby. \n\n\n\nClasses will be in gi and shoes you can train in.\n\n\n\nBring warm clothes for the cool mornings and nights.\n\n\n\nBring a camp chair\, if you have one.\n\n\n\nEveryone will be responsible for their own food and drinks. We will NOT be supplying food\, utensils or cookware.\n\n\n\nWe will have a large gas cook stove for anyone who needs to use it. Please bring your own\, if you have one. \n\n\n\nThere are about a dozen picnic tables with benches at the sight.\n\n\n\nIt is expected that many S’mores and hotdogs will be cooked over the fire.\n\n\n\nThere is only one spigot for water.\n\n\n\nWe plan to set up a large outdoor sink at the water spigot with dish washing supplies. \n\n\n\nThere are no showers and no indoor toilets. There is a (clean) Port-a-potty on sight.\n\n\n\nWe will supply wood for the campfire. \n\n\n\nThere are trees around the campsite for shade. \n\n\n\nThe Willamette River is about a 10-minute walk from the site. There is a wonderful sandy “beach” and a shallow swimming area.\n\n\n\nAn 18-hole Disc Golf Course is in the woods behind the campsite.\n\n\n\nThere is a horseshoe pit in the campsite. \n\n\n\nThere are miles of hiking and biking trails to explore.\n\n\n\nCapture the Flag on Saturday night!\n\n\n\nThis is an alcohol-free event.\n\n\n\n\nSchedule of Events \n\n\n\nFeel free to come\, and go\, as your schedule requires. \n\n\n\nAll unscheduled times are for meals\, hiking\, biking\, birding\, swimming\, games\, general relaxation\, and random fun!  \n\n\n\nThursday\, August 1 \n\n\n\n4:00 – Arrive and Set up camp  \n\n\n\n6:00 – 6:45 – Karate at the Campsite (All Ages/Levels) \n\n\n\n9:00 – Midnight – Campfire – Jokes\, stories\, and lies \n\n\n\nFriday\, August 2 \n\n\n\n10:00 – 11:00 – Jo Class in the Woods (All Ages/Levels) \n\n\n\n6:00 – 7:00 – Karate on a Hike (All Ages/Levels) \n\n\n\n9:00 – Midnight – Campfire – Worse jokes\, stories\, and more lies \n\n\n\nSaturday\, August 3 \n\n\n\n10:00 – 11:00 – Karate at the Woods (All Ages/Levels) \n\n\n\n6:00 – 7:00 – Karate in the Orchard (All Ages/Levels) \n\n\n\n8:30 – 9:30 – Capture the Flag (teens & adults) \n\n\n\n9:30 – Midnight – Campfire – Repeats of jokes\, stories\, and better lies \n\n\n\nSunday\, August 4 \n\n\n\n10:00 – 11:00 – Karate in the River (All Ages/Levels) \n\n\n\n11:00 – 1:00 – Camp cleanup and departure
