SUMMARY:Best of the Best Kata Championships
DESCRIPTION:Download the Tournament information sheet and Entry Form \n\n\n\nBMAI is hosting our annual in-school kata tournament to give our karate students an opportunity to learn about the performance aspect of karate. This is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their achievements and for family members to come show their support.  Students of any age or rank may participate as long as they know a kata well enough to show it. \n\n\n\nPerforming a kata in front of other people is a huge confidence-builder\, but can be terrifying\, too! The purpose of this event is for the students to build their confidence in a familiar atmosphere with the support of people they know and trust. The judges for the event will be BMAI instructors who will do their utmost to make this a positive learning experience for everyone. \n\n\n\nThere is a $20 entry fee for one event. Additional events are $10 each. Competitors may enter up to 5 events! Medals and certificates will be given out for the winners in each division.  \n\n\n\n The divisions are: \n\n\n\nEmpty Hand Kata \n\n\n\nWeapons Kata \n\n\n\nTeam Empty Hand Kata \n\n\n\nTeam Weapons Kata \n\n\n\nTeam Creative Kata \n\n\n\nCompetitors should be warmed up and ready to go at 5:30. The competition will begin after some brief explanations of the procedure. The number of entries will determine the length of the event. Plan for the event to last until roughly 8:00. \n\n\n\nPlease ask an instructor if you have any questions about this exciting event! \n\n\n\nThe Deadline for Applications is Thursday\, Dec. 4. \n\n\n\nNo Late Entries or Changes will be Accepted.
